Waiting children

The Ministry of Justice has special policy for children with health problems or older children and their adoption procedures are prioritized.

This is a consistent practice and priority is given to adoptive parents, regardless of their registration number, willing to accept a special needs child or older child.

In the cases of special needs children or children above 7 years the MOJ undertakes additional measures when there are no appropriate adoptive parents in the register and provided additional information about these children.

The Ministry of Justice regularly publishes on its official website information about waiting children for whom there are no adoptive parents in the register of the Ministry in order to increase the chance of these children to be adopted and placed with forever families.

Addition to the list of special needs children, registered under art.13a, par.2, p.7 a of the Family Code, as of 28 October 2008 as a result of decisions taken by the Intercountry Adoption Council on previous sessions.
