Preparation and provision of post-placement information

For the families that have finalized their adoption procedure in Bulgaria and the adopted child is already placed in the accepting country

• Post-placement reports shall be filed with the Ministry of Justice each 6 months for a period of 2 years after the placement. The report contains an evaluation of the accredited organization, regarding the living conditions, the development and the physical, mental and emotional development of the child, his/her attachment to the parents, parental care and abilities, cultural identity preservation and etc.;

• The family should arranged for the child to be examined by a pediatrician;

• The family should meet with the social worker regarding the post-placement visits (during the first year after the placement the family should send 2 post-placement reports about the development of the child written by a social worker). The family should attach about 8-10 pictures of the child to each post-placement report.
